Put this app on your packing list, don't come without it!
Don’t you just love it when something really cool comes along and you know it’s just going to get better with age? (kinda like a ‘57 Chevy)
The National Park Service has just launched their brand new Parks app. It is still in beta, but open for the public to start enjoying. (So some of the parks info is still kinda sparse.)
I am so excited to have this comprehensive “one-stop shop” for our guests.
I have tried to forward pertinent Facebook posts from the parks onto My Star VR Facebook page, but frankly, I don’t always catch all of the announcements on shuttle changes and trail closings, etc.
This will be so great to have ALL the info for ALL 423 Parks in one simple searchable place!
- Bryce and Zion Canyon already have things like:
- What to see
- Things to do
- Tours
- Hiking Trails
- Sunrise/Sunset locations
- Webcams etc.
- Ride the shuttle
- Snowshoeing
- Audio tours
- News and Alerts
- Along with basic FAQ’s like - How much will it cost to enter? Is there parking? What trails are best? How does the shuttle work?
Since this app can work offline, I suspect it will eventually replace the paper guide they hand out at the gates. (You know, the one that always gets misplaced when you need it, or the middle page gets lost and that was the one with the hike you wanted... been there, done that.)
Just look for "National Parks Service" in your favorite app store. Got mine HERE
This game-changer is just gonna get better and better!!
